Background/History:
*As a Child*
Kokuen grew up in Kemurigakure as a relatively normal child. He didn't expect to be given the title of Lord, although now he is glad he took this roll. He loves his small village and wishes it to improve. As a child he witnessed a Nukenin kill his brother in front of his eyes. Kokuen was around four years old when this happened, he only survived thanks to an Anbu arriving shortly after the death of his brother. This allowed Kokuen to run and escape, unaware if the Anbu was able to avenge him. After witnessing this at such a young age he knew what he had to do, he was so amazed with the anbu member. Kokuen knew he had to become strong no matter what the cost of it may be. If he could become one of the strongest around he could protect everyone from his village. This was his thoughts and reasoning behind this. This traumatic experience helped shape him into what he is today.
*Academy Years*
Kemurigakure had a very small academy, only a class of about five-teen. Usually the kids are just average for there village, by a large village standards they all would be weak. Kokuen was the exception he was very naturally gifted and it was obvious. He was the most advanced and it was very obvious to everyone there. He didn't let it go to his head as his only goal was to protect everyone, he was happy to know he had special skills above most around. At the age of eight he became a full fledged Ninja. He was very young although his skills were still greatly above any other genin within his small village.
*Genin Years*
As he became a genin at such a young age they appointed him to the strongest sensei in the entire village. One that was directly under the current lady, he was known as the second strongest in the village. His sensei offered his services in order to help progress Kokuen's obviously natural talent even more. Kokuen loved to do missions, no matter how trivial or pointless some would see it. He knew it helped his village and gave him experience. After a few years of training at the age of ten, still much younger then most Shinobi his sensei knew he was ready to travel to Konoha, to become a Chuunin. Kokuen wasn't to sure of his abilities at this time, but if his sensei knew he was stronger then all of the other Genin he trusted him.
*Chuunin Exams*
As Kokuen entered the Chuunin exams, he and his team was the only from Kemurigakure to be sent. All of the other Genin around hated Kokuen, he was only ten after all. His sensei must be mad for sending him to his death, or so everyone that saw him thought. He showed no aggressions or any notions that he was more then just an average child. Before the Exams started many of the Shinobi swore to him if a child of his age entered the exams he would not make it out alive. He dismissed these threats with relative ease he may have been young but he wasn't scared. The first test was rather easy for Kokuen he knew he couldn't answer the questions on the test but knew it was a waste of time if he came all the way from Kemurigakure to Konoha just to fail the first test. He decided to copy off of a fellow Ninja, which ironically is what he had to do. The first test had been completed easily.
The second test seemed to poise a little bit of fear in most of the Genin. Kokuen didn't seem to mind it he figured he would be given both scrolls pretty much. Since logically it seemed most of the Genin hated him because of his age, they all would come hunting for him. He was right as they went into the forest after about an hour he had a team in front of his own. They were after him due to his age but the team was greatly mistaken. Kokuen quickly got rid of this team and collected their scroll, but it was the wrong one. He needed to find another one, the correct one. His team made there way towards the final building perhaps cutting a team off and taking their scrolls. Another team was making their way into the building when his ambush set up. This was ironically the main team that had been teasing Kokuen for his age. He didn't have anything against them, but they did to him. They willingly engaged in a fight against his own team. They dispatched this team as well, as if it were nothing. Now they had four scrolls, and one set matching they were done with the second test.
Now with the second test complete it was time for the final portion. A tournament. He was actually excited about this, he was ready to prove that Kemurigakure could produce just as good of ninja's as the major villages. As he stood there looking around at the pairings it was obvious, his team was the only of the minor villages to survive the second test. Their odds to win this tournament and give pride to their small village wasn't very high. He knew this, and he knew the ones that made it this far must be strong. After the small preliminary rounds completed, Kokuen survived his fight, the only one on his team to do so. Now it was up to Kokuen alone from Kemuri to become a Chuunin. The first round was easy he took the Genin out without even trying, same with the second round. The semi-finals proved much tougher for him as he went up against a Hyuga. After devising a plan and a well sought after fight he won. Now he was in the finals against what some called a 'Prodigy'. The man in the finals was a Shinobi from Sunagakure, a puppeteer. The fight was long and he had to avoid the many traps his puppet had. Although finally in the end Kokuen prevailed. He now stood alone as the sole survivor of the Chuunin exams, now given the rank of a full fledged Chuunin.
*Chuunin Years*
When he returned to Kemurigakure he was very happy he became a Chuunin, even winning the tournament. Sure the Hokage of Konoha said winning didn't matter, but he proved to those other Genin he was worthy. Instead of jumping directly into missions the Lady at the time grew interest in Kokuen, she personally took him in for training. His training session under the lady of Kemurigakure lasted for several years. Finally his training ended at the age of fourteen, for now at least. This was Kokuen's decision, he felt he had to help his village in some way. He began to lead his own squad at this time. It was a squad of Genin around the same age as him, he was several years ahead after all. With training mixed in whenever the Lady and Kokuen could get in sync as well as the missions with his squad the years seemed to pass by quickly.
About a year after getting his squad of Genin he sadly suffered a death in the family, as well as on his squad. His father passed away of what was called natural causes. On top of that natural grief while his squad was out on a mission he team was ambushed by a missing Nin. The Nukenin figured his team would be an easy kill looking at their ages. Kokuen did all he could and in the end killed the man at a great cost to his own well being. He was to late the man managed to kill one of the genin under his command. Kokuen fell into a depression at this time, it was his fault this genin died. If only he was stronger; was all he could think as he made his way back to Kemurigakure. To make things worse as he returned back to Kemuri he found out his father had died as well. After both of their funerals he seemed to suddenly block out emotions. It had appeared this heartache brought onto him was to much, as if his emotions were broken. His tone was always a monotone with no emotion in it at all. Everyone figured this would pass, but it didn’t, still hasn't.
Now he was devoted to become stronger, no matter the cost. He was tired of people dying, although it seemed he didn't care his action showed it. The Lady had now agreed to put the other remaining Genin under a different sensei and train Kokuen to become stronger. He still had more potential then any Kemuri-Nin before them. Kokuen trained under the Lady as she led the village. She taught him everything she knew, and at the age of twenty after nearly four years of training, she had nothing else to teach him. His training was complete, it was now up to Kokuen to serve his village and become stronger on his own.
*Becoming a Jounin*
He was now twenty years old and rumored to be as strong as the current Lady, the leader of Kemurigakure. The lady felt this was true as well, it was time for him to prove himself as a true Jounin. Even though all of the people in Kemuri felt he was now perhaps the strongest in the village, he had to prove himself. He was sent on a mission, alone at the request of Kokuen himself. Kokuen knew he had to do it alone to prove he was as strong as everyone said. He had to hunt down one of the few Nukenin of Kemurigakure.
After a few weeks of following leads on the man and searching around Konoha, he found the man in a rural village. It was actually a string of luck that he found the man. This Nukenin had been missing since Kokuen was a mere child. He appeared to be in his late forties now. This didn't matter to him if his information on the man was correct he was only a B-Rank Nukenin. The man thought it was a joke, they sent a young man to take care of him. He didn't take Kokuen seriously which ended up being the man's downfall. Kokuen made quick work of the man returning the entire body to his village. When he returned with the body it appeared as if Kokuen didn't even show any signs the man injured him, which indeed was true. The Lady happily gave him the rank of Jounin.
*As a Jounin*
Kokuen was now a Jounin, an elite ninja, at the age of twenty. Around this time he began to smoke, for no apparent reason really he just seemed to enjoy this horrible habit of smoking. Shortly after the lady offered to give him another squad to lead but Kokuen didn't want one, he was happy working alone. He now went on several missions as often as he could for now. Completing one after another for his village in order to help serve his small country. After awhile he started to grow bored, and he was still considered perhaps the strongest in the village, he still had to become stronger. His goals weren't for personal reasons he just felt if he were stronger his village may get a better reputation.
He now continued his missions but as he did them he also trained. He trained hard as around this time at the age of twenty-one he found out about the 'trick' with the Kage Bunshin Jutsu. He started training with himself using many Bunshin, gaining more experience faster. Kokuen was now without any doubt in the villagers mind the strongest in his village, even above the serving Lady. He still didn't let this get the better of him taking a humble approach to it all as it had been his entire life. He continued missions as the years grew on.
*Becoming the Lord*
Kokuen was now twenty-eight. The years had been good to him they seemed to just blow by as he served his village, happily. His ultimate goal seemed to have been accomplished in Kokuen's eyes. Kokuen was out on a mission to take care of a relatively strong Nukenin. This Nukenin was an S-rank, extremely powerful. He didn't know this at the time of how strong the girl actually was but he didn't care either. He found her on an open road heading towards Kumogakure, he was far away from Kemuri at the time he found this girl. He looked at his book and the identity matched, the woman had aged since then but still the same person.
Kokuen had an ambush ready to take this woman out quickly, but that wasn't the case. She saw right threw Kokuen's trap, he now had to kill her face to face. He showed himself to the woman and she didn't know who he was, no surprise to Kokuen. This woman too was older, in her fifties it appeared. She had been missing longer then any other Nukenin in the history of Kemuri and Kokuen had found her. This woman was rather stronger injuring Kokuen for the first time in a few years. The two of them fought for several hours, in the end Kokuen was successful. He had killed the most wanted woman in his village. He was very happy to do this for his village; he felt he served the citizens of his village well. As he returned to the village he discovered something horrible had happened, at least in his mind it was. The lady had passed on due to old age, she was after all in her sixties at the time of her death.
Every person in the village turned out for her funeral. It had seemed even the world shed a tear on the small villages loss. People from all around the world, everyone she knew, came to her funeral. No one was more grief stricken then Kokuen. He was like a son to her, since she had no direct family at the time of her death he was the closest thing to her. She was the last he had that he considered family. It may not have seemed like it but he did not take her passing very well. Now the lady had passed on it was time to choose a new Lady or Lord. The senior council of his small village consisting of five people met to discuss who would become the new leader of Kemuri. It did not take them very long to decide who the perfect candidate would be. They knew he was young but they felt their was only one choice in the matter, Kokuen. Kokuen was now the new Lord of Kemuri despite only being twenty-eight at the time. He was now in charge of his village.
*As a Lord*
For the past two years Kemurigakure was ruled by one man, Kokuen. A young man who only wants the best for his village. He seemed to have been just following what the Lady before him had done with the village. That is until recently he knew he had to make Kemuri better, stronger. He is not expanding their land by taking over other countries, but by diplomatic ties. Kokuen feels the best route for his country to take is to make strong connections with others. Sure he didn't have a lot of land, but his country was wealthy thanks to the great leadership skills of the lady before him. As now Kokuen is destined to lead his people in a great time of prosperity. He knows what he as to do as the Lord of his village, even if he still travels around he knows what is best.
